    Frontier AI models — GPT, Gemini, Claude and the rest — are no longer bottlenecked by arithmetic but by memory bandwidth: the chip can compute faster than memory can feed it data.

    At the Future of Memory and Storage conference (Aug 4), Samsung unveiled zHBM, which vertically stacks high-bandwidth memory directly on top of the GPU instead of beside it — claiming 4x the data-transfer speed of HBM4 at roughly one-quarter of the power.

    A macOS gem hiding in plain sight: Hot Corners. Go to System Settings > Desktop & Dock > scroll down > Hot Corners, and each of the four screen corners can trigger an action — just flick your cursor into it. Set bottom-left to Lock Screen for instant privacy, top-right to Mission Control to see every window, bottom-right to Show Desktop.
