How Long Press decides what to publish, how each section works, and what happens when it is wrong.

What Long Press publishes
Three things: The Daily Five, Known Issue and Fine Print. How each one is built is described on the About page. This page covers the rules that apply to all three.
How each one works
The Daily Five covers five tech stories every morning, each one taken apart the same way: The problem, What changed, The catch, What it means for you.
Known Issue is written by hand. Swami Guru writes it, and it is reviewed before it is published. It is opinion, and it says so.
Fine Print explainers are tied to a source document. Each one goes back to the circular, notice or policy behind the change, and carries a "last checked" date.
Sources
Items in the Daily Five link to the pages they rely on: the original article, or a primary document such as a filing, press release or support page. If a real source page was not found for an item, it carries no source link rather than a guessed one. Issues published before October 8, 2026 name their sources in the text without links.
Money and independence
- Ads, when they run, are labeled "Advertisement" and sit apart from the writing.
- Anything sponsored is labeled as sponsored. The opinion is not part of any deal.
- Long Press has no embargo access, so nothing is held back for a launch date.
- Long Press does not currently use affiliate links. If that changes, links will be marked on the page and this policy will be updated.
The commercial side is described on the About page.
